What child doesn’t love a moment to dance, sing, play music and express themselves? HONK NYC believes all children should have the opportunity to enjoy the wonder and magic of live music, which is why we launched our School Program and Educational Initiative. Honk bands present interactive performances & conduct workshops to school children in our New York boroughs as well as museums in the city.

The universal appeal of the HONK! spectacle speaks to NYC kids, true citizens of the world, who come from around the globe. Our goal for all — students and performers alike — is to inspire, teach, and have fun.

Playing in the NYC school system is a terrific opportunity that affords many challenges. Some schools have not had live music programming in over twenty years. These children identify with [Honk bands]. These bands are role models for the kids as they envision the future of what their world can be. Words can not describe the impact the HONK NYC! bands have on these kids’ lives.
