“The Muses Tanguent (you can pronounce Mustang) is a mostly feminine band that has existed since 2004, born in a School of Architecture. We do not consider ourselves ‘politicized’ but we believe we are sending a strong message to our audience.
We are a band of women, mostly composed of architects, and therefore we are into urban issues. Our field of action is the entire city and our musical involvements reflect our convictions: we support events related to biking in the city, associative cafes, environment-friendly initiatives, gay weddings, and more.
We want to show to the world that a group of women can play music with humor and intelligence. We realized that women in the entertainment industry are sometimes seen as beautiful objects. That is the reason why in the choice of our songs, our performances, and our costumes, we want to surprise and play with our femininity!”
Les Muses Tanguent will be playing our Opening Party Weds. October 15 at Littlefield,
And parading with us Saturday in the East Village through Tompkins Square Park…we are so excited to welcome these fierce women into the HONK! Festival community!
